At the same time, it is crazy to feel offended that because what the government has done and facing that truth because we, as individual Americans didn't sigh off on such experiments and wouldn't if asked, at least in most cases. So who the fuck cares what Wright says as far as taking it personally.

But because you are all nuts and can't separate your own self worth from some supposed attack on the nation, Obama will have to distance himself from Wright.

And that is fine because what Wright says about the US government isn't true about me and I want no part of a nation which experiments in biological welfare on black people or any other folk.

But because we as a people are full of self contempt and have huge sore toes we leave out in the street to be run over so we can scream, slime everywhere will try to connect Obama to irrational black hate of a US government that works and does shitty things in secret.

Remember, black people hate you and Obama wants to be President so he can get even. Muohhahahahaha! He's going to get even, and look at the size of your guilt. It's gonna really hurt.

Kill that fucker of hope.

Consciously, I doubt it, but unconsciously quite possibly.

Wright talks about different is just different but what that admits to is different. But I don't think the difference is a dimes worth. Black people aren't different at all from anybody else in any way that matters. That stuff about right brain and left brain is true of the whole human race. If you talk different you feel different and if you say different is not better why bother unless you feel it. It isn't necessary for black people to preach they are different but no worse than any body else unless they are struggling to overcome such feelings and if they feel that way they have internalized racism. If you are black and have internalized racism you are racist against your own self. It's just a branch of self hate attached to race and we are all infected with it. We are all our own worst enemy and we act against ourselves unconsciously.

NY Times article from 4/30/07

Very end of the article:
Mr. Wright, who has long prided himself on criticizing the establishment, said he knew that he may not play well in Mr. Obama?s audition for the ultimate establishment job.

?If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me,? Mr. Wright said with a shrug. ?I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.?
I have been leaning towards this too.

But as a conspiracy theory we will never know the truth.

shrug.

I don't think he had any intentions of throwing him to the wolves after his race speech. But this past weekend has been an absolute embarrassment to Sen. Obama. Wright has made a fool of himself and of Obama without batting an eye. He acted like a total jackass towards Obama after Obama defended him.

Another possibility might just be that Wright is bitter? I know analogies suck, but for me it's the easiest way to explain what I'm thinking, so don't take it too literal.

Obama could be compared to a young fighter and Wright as his first trainer. He mentored him, trained him, helped him in any way he could and all of a sudden he's a big time contender. Then along comes a whole new group of people that get Obama's ear and tell him he needs new handlers to compete at this level. Obama tries to let Wright down gently, but he gets bitter and lashes out.

I think that's more likely then the conspiracy theory that Wright's preformance is all a planned act, but either is a possibility. Especially considering the timing and the possibility of Obama being able to put all this crap behind him.

I think Wright is simply using his new found fame to spread his message. It is the media that plays the relationship up as if they were soul mates or something. Remember, Obama is one of hundreds of parishioners that attended Wright's church. Obama is getting a raw deal in this.

Yeah, the US senator probably went totally unnoticed there.

No, I am saying that Wright, like all of us, is his own worst enemy, that his own internalized and unconscious feelings of inferiority derived in part from being put down for being black, if such feelings exist and I think they must unless he has had an enormous amount of psychotherapy, create unconscious motivations that generate actions that sabotage our real interests.

If you feel inferior, and I say we have this in our feelings, then you have anger toward that which made you feel bad. If you are angry, say at your Mother, it leaks our in behavior and she insures you feel even worse. In short we act in ways that reinforce and prove, bring ourselves to feel, how worthless we unconsciously feel.

We are just as irrational about our religion and our philosophies, we attach our identity to them. If somebody attacks me they attack the black church or other such nonsense. I follow Jesus who is good not some posturing politician who would throw me under the bus for a vote, etc.

We act crazy because we believed in lies, had to, when we were children and now the damage is unconscious where we don't want to see it, the reason it IS unconscious.

Wright has found some philosophical comfort in the notion that different is just different not better or worse and he's in a war about that because he still hurts from being made to feel different and inferior whereas I think Obama is far more free from all that and that unconsciously threatens Wright. Obama, I think, feels much more equal to others. He doesn't have such a conflict and not such a need to feel different if equal. He feels the same and equal, I think. His feelings of self hate aren't so tied to race, he's farther down the road on that issue.

Obama is psychologically more healthy and doesn't need black theology to feel good. I think his whole political message is more advanced, what the future will look like as we slowly evolve past racism. Just my opinion.

The Milly Cyrus thread is a couple down from here.

Wright (who reminds me an awful lot of James Brown) has been trapped by that symbiotic lure of the TV camera-neither he nor the media will let go. I don't think he is purposefully trying to destroy Obama, but his ego is blinding him.

Does noone but me see this as the precursor to an obvious book tour to cash in on his sudden national fame?

I may be different from him (or others) but you have to be aware of the ramifications of your actions before you carry them out. This is even more for adults. He simply has to know what he's doing is damaging. Unless he is in a trance, I think he doesn't give a damn about Obama. It really is sad.

I prefer it happens now while Obama is still fighting for the nomination so it will be old news by the time he's fighting for the Presidency.

Look who i am whole-heartedly agreeing with!

except .. except i do not think Obama can win any longer
-America is too small minded right now to allow it - especially after the good Rev called Obama a Politician that also listens to Farrakhan and the Reps will unleash the racist white church dogs on him.

i still say America will Vote for Obama in 2012 or for sure in 2016 - if he simply takes the VP under Hitlery [and he should cut a deal to have her adopt his vision in public]

best shot to take out McLane
- for the Dems

But it almost seems like Wright is enjoying his time in the spotlight and has no problem undermining the Obama campaign by repeating some of the ludicrous claims he likes to discuss. Lets add the recent comments by the "Reverend" Al Sharpton
Linked and a nice little trend emerges. These demigods that prey on the fears and prejudices of the downtrodden minority class have a lot to lose if a black man becomes president. Their cries of continual racial injustice will be lessened, and their ability to paint everything as a racial issue will be lessened. By derailing Obama, they can also USE HIM as a symbol of racial inequality and racism. They have more to gain with Obama beaten than with Obama as president.

Pretty damn sad if you ask me. It looks like that strategy is working, and the American people are falling for it, hook line and sinker.

You assume that because Misters Obama, Wright, and Sharpton are considered to be of the same race they have the same agendas.

Would you come the same conclusions if these three gentlemen were Irish American?

Small-minded my ass. Obama is a relatively new guy on the scene. A good speaker to be sure, but we don't have a lot of track record to base anything on. He specifically says how close he is with this wright guy, how the guy is his moral compass and mentor etc etc, and then it turns out the 'reverend' is simply a racist and all around wacko. Obama's half-hearted attempts at damage control will not work, he's doomed, and rightfully so. There's no way you're going to convince any rational person that you spent 20 years being close with this guy and not realize that he's a racist loony who continues to spout insane theories. With unsavory characters like Farrakhan and Wright surrounding Obama, it's perfectly rational for someone to question if he's really ready for the top job.

I also found this interesting: ?If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me,? Mr. Wright said with a shrug. ?I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.?

That quote makes it seem like Obama's saying "we're on the same page and I'm still with you, but in order to win I'm going to have to pretend to distance myself from you".

Obama is doomed. The irony is that the first black guy with a realistic chance to win the top job in the country gets sunk by his mentor and black activist.
