I just remembered, you can try this:

My brother in law used to have his windows tinted as dark as they could make 'em. He went to DOC and told the eye doctor that he drove to work towards the sun and it gave him headaches. He asked if the doctor could write a note that allowed him to have tint in his windows. The doctor didn't mind, and he wrote it on his DOC letterhead. He showed the note to cops and most let him go.

I tried this too and got out of about 4-5 instances when I got pulled over. However the last cop (when I finally stripped the tint) said I need to get it on my license, sort of like how it says you need "corrective lenses" if you wear glasses. He then told me that if you're caught driving without tint you might get a ticket for driving impaired. He could have just been being an ass, but it made sense to me. YMMV :D

<< :) You mean there's actually a practical reason for tinting your windows? I thought everybody did it to look cool. :D >>

I think that's #1 reason. But I had a black car that got incredibly hot in the sweltering Michigan summers. The tint really did keep the car a bit cooler.

You have obviously never driven in vegas... To quote a movie line "Why didn't they just build this city on the Sun?"

You only have to burn your legs once to go get the tint put on. On a total tangent... I can't tell you how many times I have burned myself during patient extrication during summer months here. Ahhh, the good old days working in CA when you only had to worry about broken glass and sharp metal...

It depends on the state law and many specify xx % transparency and xx window. Some cars come tinted from factory by the way, so it can't be illegal if you're tinting properly. If she's talking about ricer tint with 5% transparency, I'd say hella illegal.

So I take it you really are a paramedic. :D I used to work with this girl about 10 years ago who quit to go to school. I asked her what she was going to school for and she said she wanted to be a road doctor. She said after she watched "Mother, Jugs, and Speed" she knew what she wanted to do. :D
