Is Win98 FE any more stable than Win98 SE?

I've been using Win98 SE for a while but because tech support for my cable service suggested that Win98 FE is more stable the last pc I built stayed at FE.
What are the significant differences between these two manifestations of Bill's hegemony.

Scanning through the OS catagory's threads I wonder if I should try to get a copy of the XP Beta.

Win98SE is mostly compriesed of bug fixes and Y2K fixes for the initial release of Windows 98, most of which are available as free downloads on the Windows 98 Update site. Win98SE also includes a number of upgraded Microsoft programs such as Internet Explorer 5, Outlook Express 5, NetMeeting 3, Windows Media Player 6.1, and DirectX 6.1. Again, all of which are available for free download from the Windows Update site.
All of the updates in 98SE are available for free download.

The one and only major new feature in 98SE that is not available for free download is Internet Connection Sharing. Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) allows users with two or more networked computers to share a modem and an Internet/ISP connection.

Windows 98SE is not inherently any more stable or any different then a patched version of 98 First Edition.

With WIN98FE I had to install a lot of patches to gain any stability.

With WIN98SE on the same machine few patches were needed for stability and some of my hardware drivers were included too making for a much faster installation..
