McDicks is best for fast food breakfast. I haven't eaten any other meal there in so long I am probably mis-remembering how bad their lunch/dinner food really is. Wendy's is better for lunch/dinner. They also have (had?) a good combo where you could get salad instead of fries and they would serve the sandwiches w/o buns.

All Subway subs seem to taste the same, no matter what you order and the bread to meat ratio is too high. Quisnos makes a better sub.

ideally that is true, however the consistancy on quiznos subs is HORRIBLE, sometimes you get a sloppy sandwich that doesnt taste right. subway its the same good sandwich everytime. quiznos sometimes great sandwich, manytimes CRAPOLA

About 30 years ago, I quit my construction job (80 miles from home) so I could be closer while my wife was about to have our 2nd child. I took a job mechanicing in a plant that processed potatos...and Wendy's was their #1 customer. All day and all night, all you could smell anywhere around that town was the smell of Wendy's french fries...At work, we were allowed to eat all of them we wanted. There was always large trays of hot french fries in the cafeterias, you could snag a couple off the line after the fryer, etc.
After our daughter was born, I quit to go back to construction, and it took me several years before I could go into a Wendy's again...and I STILL can't eat their fries.

Here locally, I have much better odds of getting my drive-through order right at MickyD's than at Wendy's. I'd guess that 6 out of 10 times, Wendy's fucks up the order in some way or another...often severely. The only place around that is worse is Taco Smell...there, you have to go through the order in the drive-through to verify it's right, because it's almost guaranteed they will have forgotten something.

I prefer Wendy's for lunch/dinner, but I'll take McDonald's for breakfast, also it depends on how much you can afford to spend, for $5 you can get a Big Mac combo (at least here in TX), my favorite items from Wendy's, Double cheeseburger, Baconator, or the spicy chicken sandwich, you're spending at least $6 - 7.

Of course if you want a real inexpensive lunch, the hot dog combo at Sam's Club (Nathan's hot dog w/ 32oz drink), for $1.50 can't be beat.

The Wendys' here are very inconsistent. I've been to ones which are far and away better than McD's, and then been to others where it seems the burgers were made a day in advance, left to sit out on the counter overnight, then nuked when I wanted to eat them.

Wendy's uses fresh never frozen beef, plus their toppings are pretty top notch stuff.

1) Arbies curly fries
2) Long john silver fries
3) Wendy's fries
4) King Kong fries
5) Runza fries
6) McDonalds fries
.
.
99) Burger King fries

This is my list IMO.

I like Wendy's for the Spicy Chicken Combo, Baconnator, and the nuggets. Someone tried to feed me McDonalds nuggets a long time ago, those were NASTY. It was literally cardboard with 0 taste. I am also NOT picky about food at all, I normally eat anything. :p

Whoa whoa whoa...how dare you not put Checker's fries at the top, and Arby's right under it. As far as I'm concerned, if the fastfood fries aren't from one of those two, they are full of fail.

Never heard of checkers and it's been a long time since I've eaten at Arby's so I didn't know where to rank them.

Granted, my city has a very limited selection of fast food restaurants (which i admittedly don't go to as often as I used to), so my list is rather incomplete.

If you've seen a Rally's, its the same place.

Anyway, I say Wendy's is better, but not by a large margin. Last time I got a triple burger the grease seeped through the wrapping and the bread was pretty much soggy. McDonalds doesn't taste too good either.

Pollo Tropical needs to expand...grilled whole chicken with black beans and rice>burger and non-Checkers fries. Man, when I go up to college Im gonna miss that :(

Off topic, but any Floridian know if there are any Pollo Tropical near Gainesville/Tallahasse? If so, I will live off that stuff

Aren't you a female? I just find it odd, because most girls I know avoid McD's as best they can. Just curious.

To me fast food is exactly that... fast food

I know its bad for me and avoid it most of the time, but if I know I am going to be eating fast food I go where ever is closest. If I have a choice then it depends on what I want... McD has the best fries but if I'm broke Wendys has the best dollar menu. There really arent any BK around here

I can't stand Subway or understand the craze. Sure, it's a decent sub, but I'd much rather make the same thing at home, for way cheaper, and usually spend less time.

1. Bread isn't all that great, Quizno's has better bread
2. Meat? Super sodium cold cuts or MICROWAVED chicken/"steak". Screw that, I'd rather have Quizno's boiled then toasted "steak".
3. Compare a McDonald's Premium Crispy Chicken Sandwich and a 6" Subway Double Turkey (what it takes for me to be as full, and also more expensive). The sub only wins out on saturated fats, and barely.

I live off fast food.

French fries:
1. Checker's/Rally's, no contest
2. Arby's
3. Chik-Fil-A
4. McDonald's
5. Burger King
6. Horse excrement
7. In-N-Out, Wendy's

Interesting how every couple of months we have a fast food thread in here. Personally I rarely eat at a burger joint anymore. I typically eat at one of the following places:

Jason's Deli
Spicy Pickle
Qdoba
Chipotle
Heidi's Deli
Quizno's

About the only burger joint I visit with anything approaching regularity is Sonic's. Sonic's tots ftw :)
