Is Visiontek = Leadtek?

Everyone seems to agree that VisionTek has superior 2D to other nVidia cards. UCDweb has been a pretty good place. Though if you mess around with coupons and pricematching, you can get a pretty good deal on an Elsa (made by VisionTek) GTS.

In my personal opinion, the 2D on my old VisionTek MX was the equal to that of the Radeon that I have now.

I don't know much about Leaktek, but the ELSA Gladiac GeForce 2 GTS card (manufactured by Visiontek) that I have right now has excellent 2D on my 19 inch NEC monitor at 1600x1200x32 @75 Hz resoultion. As for a good deal on the web for an ELSA, buy.com has it for $199 and there's a $30 off any $150 computer purchase coupon floating around out there. Look for the coupon at a site like slickdeals.net.

Edit: I also used to have a Voodoo3 card previously and my ELSA is just as good, if not better, at the resolution mentioned above. I think the general consensus seems to be that the ELSA/Visiontek and Leadtek cards have the best 2D amongst all the nvidia cards out there.

I have the Leadtek WinFast GTS 32mb card, and the 2D on my Optiquest V95 19" monitor at 1280x1024 is just as good or better than the 2D I had with my previous V3. And I think everyone agrees that the 2D on the V3 cards is pretty good.

I had always been a 3DFX user (Banshee, V3) and I heard the horror stories about how bad the 2D would be on Nvidia's cards before I got the Leadtek. I love this new card: superfast speed in games, overclocks nicely because of the over-designed HS, and good 2D quality.
