Just got a new external USB powered 250 MB zip drive. Does anyone know if it is possible to make this bootable, so I can install say win98 lite or something on a zip disk for emergency use? Also, how do I get the computer to see the drive in DOS? I tried using the iomega guest thing that iomega has on their website, but it couldn't find the drive (I'm guessing that's an old program that was made to look for either IDE or parallel drives, and can't find USB drives).

Thanks!

I think it depends on the motherboard. The ECS K7S5A is the only motherboard that I know that has an option in the bios to boot from a USB device. I haven't tried it to see if it really works though...

I don't think that it's possible. I've never seen a motherboard that boots from USB, but I haven't seen every motherboard either. If there is such a motherboard I would say that you could. If that isn't an option in your BIOS, I'd still have to give you a negative answer.

OK, thanks :)

As for getting it to work in DOS, I don't know what I was thinking when I asked that - Win95 barely supports USB, let alone DOS lol. Oh well.
