Since you have a KT7
A, I'll assume that you're running a 133FSB, correct? I ask b/c some folks have a 133FSB-capable mobo, but still have a "B" Athlon, which only does a 100MHz FSB.
Nevermind; I just looked at your rig. You have a really nice system. Way better than mine!

Here's my two-cents: "Worth it?" is a very subjective thing. For sake of arguement, you'd have to get:
KG7R - $160
512mb of PC2100 - $85
For a total of $245 before shipping. Prolly looking at $260 Grand Total. You already have a "C" Athlon (I don't) and a kickass videocard (I don't...mine is just "OK"
You already get maximum game performance. You're already at 1.5GHz. For you, the extra 15-20% memory bandwith will kind of be "invisible." I'm not trying to discourage you...just laying out the facts.
I went thru the same questions when the KT133A chipset came out. A KT7A with a "C" Athlon is about 33% faster than a KT7 with a "B" Athlon....I didn't upgrade b/c I'd have to buy a mobo and a new CPU. Now with DDR (plus I already bought 512megs of PC2100!) the temptation of about a 50% performance boost for me is too much to overlook.
If you have $250 burning a hole in your pants pocket, I'd do it just for the "cool/brag" factor. I doubt you will see much of an increase in performance though; your current rig is already a monster. Good luck whatever you decide!
