Is trance "trendy" music right now?

It just seems like everyone is listening to it, kind of like how little kids watch pokemon and stuff. 😉 I mean trance was no wear to be seen 5 years ago except as a niche music, but now everyone knows about it and listens to it (myself included). What do you think?

well i think i have been listening to it longer than most and i like various types unlike some people who only like the upbeat stuff

i like trance, techno, happy hardcore, jungle(some of it), house, disco house especially, drumb and bass

which is all under the genre electronica but people call it all techno or trance

I dunno, I see a lot more people listening to it than before but I wouldn't necessarily call it trendy .. I have no doubt that it's on its way though.

it was trendy a year ago too. probably before that. last year it got really trendy. now i don't know because i've been out of the "scene" for a while.

Yea...

I listen to it occassionally because it's still not mainstream. I not likey mainstream, but sometimes some trance is too damn good to dismiss because of that reason.

Could be, but its my music now.

I used to be into rap, nothing but.. The music has died now, rap comming out today is nothing but sh!t. Jay-Z, Nelly (is it even rap? like farmer rap maybe), Lil Bow Wow.. God.

Trance is my music, I love it. I run a station based on it. I truely love it... The good songs can get me moving..

Electronic music in general is tiptoeing into the mainstream.
Most of it that does, sucks. The underground is still where its at.
If you don't know, then you probably should not. 😉

I've got a 50 year old coworker that listens to trance here on the night shift. I honestly don't see the appeal, but to each his own. He truly is an exception, though. Most of my other coworkers are in their 40's and still listening to the same music (I'm guessing) they listened to as teenagers. Needless to say, I've grown to hate Pink Floyd.

Do you think you'll still be listening to trance in your advanced age? Or do you think it will be remembered with shame in the same way the Macarena is?

<< trendies are listening to it, but there are truely lovers of it... >>

and I know one of them, I think most of u guys do too...

I'm not sure if it's trendy right now. I started listening to it in about '98, but sort of got out of it early last year and I am now just getting back into it again.(mainly listening to a lot of my cd's and mp3's of it from before and only some of the newer stuff)

I started listening to trance in 97. I was drawn in when i picked up robert miles 'dreamland'. Trance is really starting to take off and it's being played on the radio more and more. Imo i think it is better to stay underground. Look at what happened to darude's sandstorm. It was a good song until it started being overplayed. Everyone knows about it now. But that's my thought of course...

I listened to it back in before 1996 or 1997 and saw Crystal Method in concert here. I was 15 or 16 back then, so i think it would consider me to be a lover of it, not a trendy. Not quite trance tho, but electronic to say the least.... Hypertrophy also comes to mind, along with a couple other ones.

Pure trance isn't trendy...pure trance is all about the music. The stuff you hear on the radio and on little teen girl's mp3 playlists is watered down, made-for-the-masses trance...

Good trance is trance that the crowd screams over, or leaves you in pure euphoria, without EVER getting radioplay.
