Absolut is usually my go to, but it was really expensive at the store I was at so I just kind of picked from the stuff on sale in the middle shelves at random. Anyone think this is decent?

Russian Standard is a great cheap vodka. Tito's used to be good too but somehow word caught on and it got expensive. My personal favorites would be Amaretto Ciroc with cola, Peach ciroc with sprite, and Belvedere with anything.

Absolut is nasty and I do not know why it is so expensive here. It used to be my pregame vodka in Italy because it was 9 euros a bottle. On the other hand Smirnoff in Europe is expensive as hell.

Stoli Elite is my usual, Maui Ocean for mixing, and Level if I'm on a budget...

I haven't had three olives yet. When in doubt you can go with Tito's. If I recall correctly only American Vodkas sold in the US, due to regs, have to state any extra ingredients in the bottle. So surprisingly US vodkas can be more pure for what vodka is today.

I don't really know many people that drink straight vodka besides me occasionally. Once it gets mixed the consensus is that it is pretty much all the same, barring the bottom shelf garbage.

My favorite US vodkas are Titos and 360. Russian vodka right now is Zyr. I have a bottle of Imperia that I am scared to crack open. Vodka is fun in that Imperia, one of the "best" vodkas is like 30 dollars.

I normally drink grey goose or belvedere when I drink vodka myself, but when me and my gf throw parties we buy "exclusiv" brand and it's surprisingly smooth when freezing cold.

Titos is my house vodka. It's cheap and works well. Other then that I don't really find my advantage to expensive vodka. I'd rather spend my money on rum, scotch, and bourbon.

Three olives is gluten free, so it's got that going for it.

er... all vodka (nearly all hard liquor, even) is gluten free. distillation removes any gluten proteins from the wheat.

I've had Three Olives before and it didn't stand out to me as being particularly good or bad.

Smirnoff is usually my go-to for inexpensive vodka, and Grey Goose when I'm spending money.

The business history of Grey Goose is enough to make me avoid it regardless of taste. Besides the sketchy origins and motivations of their product, GG is pretty darn expensive for what vodka is, usually a vehicle for other tasty treats that should go relatively unnoticed.

When it comes to vodka I usually just go cheap and cold, it's always going to be mixed with something, the only clear alcohol you'll see me drink straight is pretty much going to be grappa or aquavit.

Three Olives isn't a good vodka, but Three Olives Cherry tastes DELICIOUS! For an awesome foo-foo drink, use 3O Cherry + Cherry 7Up + crushed ice + lime. It's like an alcoholic Sonic cherry-limeade :D

I haven't tried Three Olives, but from my experiences:

Smirnoff - bottom shelf, poor
Svedka = bottom shelf, poor (though better than Smirnoff)
UV = bottom shelf, decent for pre-flavored
Absolut = mid shelf, poor
Skyy = mid shelf, decent
Crystal Head = top shelf, poor (the only thing top shelf about it is the price)
Ketel One = top shelf, good (though I prefer Grey Goose)
Grey Goose = top shelf, good
Dubra = if you have to ask...

I don't really care for Vodka anymore. It doesn't have much flavor, so it's primarily either for getting smashed quickly, or mixing it into something, and I'm not really into fruity mixed drinks.

i don't think it tastes too good straight up but it might just be a mental thing. their flavored stuff is pretty decent for the bomb drinks. grape/cherry/etc bombs. they actually have a fruit loops flavor that tasted pretty much like fruit loops iirc. of course that was after i had some shots already.

Here Titos is almost double the price of Smirnoff.

$34-36 for 1.75 compared to Smirnoff at $18, damn sure isn't twice as good.

That is pretty darn cheap for a 1.75. You are right in that it is not twice as good, but what usually works out that 2x price is 2x as good? All in all vodka is very cheap for the upper tier if you enjoy just drinking vodka or making a vodka martini. Other booze just gets a little too out of hand for me. Hundreds of dollars for scotch and such is crazy.

Last time I had Ketel it tasted horrible. I don't know if the bar did the old switcharoo for some vlad' but it just tasted like sugar water.
