Is this wrong?

I'm 16, 17 in August and I've recently been getting calls from the Army, Navy and AirForce weekly for the past two months. I finally told them all I was 14 and the calls stopped coming.. however the mail flyers haven't 🙁

Is this wrong, like, could I get in trouble for this? So in 2 years, when they call me, I'll just lie again? 🙂

I doubt you'll get in trouble. You could have just manned up and told them you weren't interested too.

I did that the first time.

They just keep asking "why?" over and over. The 14 thing stopped them dead in their tracks and no more calls 🙂

So... telling them never to call you again or you'll turn them in to the FCC and they'll get fined isn't good enough?
I don't think that counts for any Government related agency.

They only called me once while I was in high school.

Recruiter introduces himself.
Recruiter: So, what are your plans after high school?
Me: College.
Recruiter: Okay, thanks for your time!

Of course, back then we didn't have 100,000+ troops in Iraq.

Anyway, I doubt you'll get in any trouble. You still have to register for SSS when you turn 18, but I don't think it's likely you'll get drafted just because you lied about your age to some recruiter. 😉

I think if you say you're going to college you should be pretty solid. Most recruiters figure out that college bound kids have little interest in the military. At most they do ROTC. This of course is a generalisation.

I'm doing the military either before or after law school. 😛

They never called me when I was in High School, I guess they just knew by esp that I wasn't interested.

correct. the same goes for non-profit agencies.

They used to call me all the time, even after I told them I was handicapped.

Apparently, they can use wheelchairs in the navy.

Tried that before, still got a slew of "well we'll pay for your college after your training!" 😛

If they ask you why... tell them because you don't want to... and if they ask why to that, tell them because that's the decision you made and if they aren't satisfied with it then it's tough sh!t for them.

Easy enough. Show some backbone or they will keep trying to talk you into enlisting. That's their job, you know.

I told them I smoked weed and that I wasn't gonna stop. They left me alone after that.

The next phone call would be from Ashcroft and the anti-terrorism team.

just tell them you're gay, that will stop them.

It doesn't any more. 🙁

One of my cousins is a lesbian and she has been in the army for several years. I guess that quite a few of the men in the army (that she was around) started having sex with each other in attempt to being discharged. Nothing worked, though. I sincerely doubt that they'll believe you if you say you're gay. :'(

Though, of course, that would be the first words out of my mouth anyway.

I told them that when I'm ready to get shot over something I don't care about, I will call them.

Nothing has come in from the armed forces in years.
