is this worth the extra $30 ?

looks a bit cheaply made to me, but for $219, i guess its alright.
i would only spend the xtra money for a factory oc if i was too scared to overclock it myself and void the warenty. if you have plans on overclocking it more yourself, take that $30 and spend it on a better made card, becasue you will be voiding your warenty anyway.
hope that made sense,
nick

no i dont plan on oc'ing it, thats why it interests me. i dont do oc, but i like thinks that are factory oc'ed. thats why i am seeking everyone elses opinion.

thats quite a bit of an OC, but i can't comment on the quality of the card. that much of an OC under warranty is worth the money IMHO.

that is a 256meg 6800nu, hence the hefty price tag. a plain old 6800 will run between $250 and $300. NU stands for Non-Ultra (and non GT for that matter)

oh ok, but what do you think of the standard 6800 there? is it worth the extra over the 6600Gt or is it a stripped down one? i couldnt find any reviews....

I have a regular Leadtek 6600GT. It's running at 579 MHz core, 1160 MHz memory, and gets about 3840 average on 3DMark05. YMMV, but I would get the cheaper card and overclock it myself. I think it's safe-- you have no worries IMO. It's also very very easy to do. Save yourself some money!

I know what you mean; when I got mine out of the box I said to myself, "This is it?" Anandtech rated it the highest out of a field of 11 brands, though; apparently that wimpy-looking HSF is the only one to be securely attached or something, and actually does a good job of cooling the chip.

some standards can have thier piplines unlocked (to 12 or 16) and increase mucho in speed othwise thier not much better than a 6600GT
