how the hell can you be successful then if you dont care what your lawn looks like, what your buildings look like, what your car looks like...

wtf do you do when you have to take a client out to lunch? push the ****** off the seat and tell him to sit?

No no no, I think lawns should be taken well care of, and the inside of my house is absolutely spotless, but my point is, that is the "indoors," as opposed to something that is "outdoors."

Outdoors is supposed to be dirty, and a car is something that is operated outdoors.

Why would you spend $20k, $30k, or $40k on a vehicle, then not take care of it properly?

Considering how much I plunked down on my new '06, I want to make sure that it looks good inside and out until the day I sell it.

-- I also took the time today to vaccum out the interior, wash the dirt off my all-weather floor mats and spray leather protectant on my seats.

Yeah, I think you're just slow :D

Here's what I did this evening:

1) Spray down the car (took about a minute)
2) Squeeze gel on passenger side of car and wash (one squirt each for rear flanks, rear door, front foor, front 1/4 panel). Wash. Rinse. 4 mins tops
3) Squeeze gel on hood, front bumper. Wash. Rinse. 2 mins.
4) Squeeze gel on rear hatch, rear bumper and roof. Wash. Rinse. 4 mins.
5) Repeat #2 for drivers side. 4 mins
6) Clean wheels. 6 mins.
7) Rinse car off with Mr. Clean Auto Dry spot-free rinse cycle.

DONE in less than 30 mins.

So do you chug an entire pot of coffee before you do all this?

No. It's not really that hard :D

I think I do take care of it properly. I plan on driving it until the wheels fall off, so frankly the value is going to be negligible when I rid of it, no matter how well I take care of it.

I look at a car as just a big machine. No one polishes and waxes a bulldozer do they?

actually, they dont polish/wax but they do use a Powerwasher about once a week, acid about once a month to get all the other gunk off, and degreaser to get the grease off.

it makes it easier when you have issues to fix them with a clean machine, than a dirty one.
