Is this upgrade worth it, in your opinion?

Hey all.

Basically, my old Asus board can't do 200mhz. 🙁 It has issues at anything over 175...and I have some good PC3200 memory (some low latency kit I got a year ago that is 512x2), too.

Right now I have a Athlon XP Mobile 2500+ running at 2.3ghz in the A7N8X, so I'm not sure if possibly hitting 2.4ghz with a higher bus speed will make much difference. Oh, my video card is a BFG 6800 OC.

I'm thinking maybe it isn't the best upgrade, at $95... but never know. 🙂

Unless you're using the on-board SATA and Soundstorm, you might check out the Shuttle AN35N-Ultra. They're only about $50. Can you sell the old mobo to help offset the cost?

You s/b able to get above FSB 200mhz and pick up another 100-200mhz for the cpu

Well, I do need Soundstorm, but not SATA...

I could probably sell the board, but it isn't worth too much now I'd imagine.
