That sounds almost as bad as an interview I went to recently. I had the gentleman interviewing me (a fairly high-ranking exec) explain a daily routine of 150 calls to directory services in one day, along with additional tasks that form a daily deadline. As soon as I heard him mention that many calls, I stopped him and and said "uh, are you sure you would expect me to finish all 150 calls in a single day? Even at 7 minutes a call..." with him quickly responding "WELL REALISTICALLY I'D ONLY EXPECT YOU TO GET 75 DONE IN A DAY...". I almost walked out right there. I'm not actually sure if they do call back if I will take the position because of how embarrassing it was. Mind you, this was for a 50-60k position.
TLDR: some companies may look amazing on the outside, but for reviewing potential employees consists of execs with no clue what they need, or circus charades instead of a legitimate, reputable Human Resources team. I'm not sure how the food industry works, but I've done enough work in the bay area to know a good HR department is worth its weight in gold for IT/businesses.
