okay, on the first floor of my house, i have a wireless G router set up working fine. it has 3 users, a desktop upstairs that uses a wireless g card, a laptop that uses a wireless b card, and the desktop that is wired to router downstairs.

my question is, can i create a network upstairs using the wireless laptop, another router, and a new desktop.
i dont want to get another wireless pci card as this will only be temporary.

basically i want to connect the wireless laptop to the new router, then connect another desktop to the new router, and have the desktop be able to go online as well as share files between the two systems. is this configuration possible? do i plug the laptop into the WAN port, or just treat it like another LAN pc....any comments and suggestions would be welcome. thanks.

Yes its doable but why not move the router upstairs and transplant the PCI wireless card to the PC downstairs? Then it wont be very complicated.

Other wise setup your PC or Laptop with the wireless card install a ethernet card if it doesn't have one and set up ICS on that pc connecting that ethernet card to the router (make sure router DHCP is turned off) and the other PC you want to have access to the network. Keep in mind really all you would need is a switch but at router prices today you could buy a router and switch for nearly the same $$.

Any concoction that involve two Routers or Router and ICS. I.e. any Double NAT will create two Networks. You will be able to use the Internet but no straight sharing between the two Networks.

If you want to use Wireless and avoid double NAT you would have to buy a Wireless Bridge.
