John Stossel from Fox News said that computer scientists get to stay permanently in Germany if they choose to do so. Is there any truth to this? What does this mean? Automatic citizenship for computer scientists? That doesn't sound right. This is Fox News, so I am inclined not to believe it.

Germany may have something similar to the H-1B, possibly without the term limit. If so it wouldn't be anything special.

Automatic citizenship for computer scientists?

Strongly doubt that, as Germany is very restrictive about granting citizenship. There are tons of Turkish "guest workers" who have been in the country for years and can't get citizenship.

More likely that they are willing to grant work visas to computer scientists.

They seem to have a dislike for the Turkish though. They seem to look down on the Turkish similar to how Americans look down on Mexicans.

If someone was there on a work visa, would they have access to Germany's healthcare system?
