Is this too much trash for pick-up?

Put less maybe?

Do you have a contract with your garbage pick up service about what maximum container sizes are, or how many bags you can do? Or all kinds of rules?
(can't see the picture because it's blocked at work)

Or, in technical terms ... read the eula 🙂

The only thing I can think of is they came before I put my trash outside...
I put it outside at 6A.M but maybe they came earlier than that.

So they didn't actually tell you that its too much?

I'd call them. They are usually pretty liberal about giving free service for oopsies

That reminds me... Time to head to the dump this weekend. Haven't been there since December. (I don't generate much garbage.)

Why not break down the boxes... or is there something else inside them?

Your trash bin is pathetically small. The ones in my city are 100 gallon bins and could probably swallow two of your trash bins.

heh maybe the neatly taped boxes freaked them out.

i've put out old IBM PS/2's ( the ultra heavy steel ones ) and a 27" CRT and the trash guys took them.

The boxes should be recycled, no?
In my neighborhood, they pick up recycled and regular trash on separate days and if you mix em up they won't take it.

Geez, that's not much.
Some of the families back near my parents' place would put out at least double that each week. And sometimes there'd be a sofa or livingroom chair out here and there.

yep...our guys will take anything. I called them because I had a huge desk that was kinda busted up. They said as long as it will fit in the opening, its all good.

pretty much if it's not in a trash bag, our pick-up guys won't take it.

my town recently ended clean-out days too... now you've got to call the town, schedule a pick-up, and pay for it.

whenever i moved into my house and unpacked, we had sooo much extra garbage (unnecessary shit from the move, empty boxes, broken stuff, ugly shit that came with the house, etc.), it was ridiculous. on top of that, we had to pile it up for 3 weeks before they would take it because of some silly account issue. they took it all.

seriously, our curb looked like a snapshot from the streets of post-hurricane katrina.

I would take the blue tape off the boxes, then reseal with clear tape. Put the boxes in the back of a pick-up and leave it parked at the mall. Someone will steal your trash thinking it is valuable new items. Problem solved.

kinda like when I had a bike I had to get rid of... I rode it down to the train station and left it in the bike rack unlocked. bike was gone a day later

What's in the boxes? If they're just empty boxes, then they shouldn't take them - you should cram them in the recycling box or fold them up and take them with you to the depot next time you go.

Not sure what the rules are where you live, but in my city we have a strict 1 can maximum, and it is illegal to put recyclables such as cardboard and plastic in the garbage.
