Well its a pretty stupid top 25 list... the top 25 songs that are from video games but not really because the games took them from real life... and in real life they were pretty lousy songs anyways. To quote one of the commenters this author shud hav just named this pile of crap - "songs that i like that, coincidentally, are in videogames" lol sounds about right.

Megaman wilys castle sounds better than the crap he names anyway

Somebody had an article deadline in three minutes and had to rush. Geez that list was terrible.

Why is Guitar Hero even included? The only legitimate video game song that is in there is the Quake theme. Everything else is mainstream music that just happens to be used in video games.

Haha, more like, "songs that i like that, coincidentally, are in Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero, or GTA IV"

Going past the idea that the title should have been "Top 25 licensed songs in video games" and should never have referred to them as "video game songs," the list is bad anyway. It's just random licensed music with no attention paid to how well the music fits with the game.

What pisses me off is they put one song per page to boost views. We have scroll bars, quit splitting shit up.

Wow this is the greatest list ever. I think he stole it from my list of favorite video game songs!

To you guys complaining here, you are all a bunch of geeks that spend too much time playing computer games.

How can you compare the theme to final fantasy or zelda or whatever to Guns N' Roses etc (im sorry my 'ignorant' ass doesn't spent my valuable time playing childish video games). I understand the point that more variety is required, but this is a new phenomenon in the music industry so of course its going to be limited to a few titles.

You copied one of the commenters. Nice try though, if I hadn't read the comments you probably would have trolled me.

Not a good list, but some decent stuff on there. Definitely should have excluded music games though. And obviously it's not really a list of video game music so much as music that was in video games, but this is billboard not EGM.

I think the worst list of all time was the list of the top 25 90s bands that excluded Pearl Jam (and if Nirvana was on the list, it was much lower than it should have been). The list was basically saying "I'm better than you because I listen to obscure music."

How many Top X lists are there that are any good? Most of them are completely arbitrary and designed to incite controversy.

Good point. Lists like that are usually used because they're easier to write and attract more readers. They don't require the same attention span as a regular article that simply discusses the topic at hand rather than breaking it up into 5, 10, or 20 easy-to-swallow pieces.

San Andreas had a pretty good soundtrack, so good the ones he listed wouldnt have made my top 5 for that game. I would have at least picked songs that sort of defined the game, at least for me. Paradise City was awesome as the Burnout theme...best use of GnR imo. And Doom had a great theme song as well. I could hum that note for note, and I dont even really like metal. And the last time I played Doom was like 15 years ago! Heck, Volver A Comenzar from LBP would make mine.

Something like this is so subjective I dont why the author even bothered. He even cheated using GH.
