Is this the right forum to ask for GPS suggestions?

Was looking at GPSes today. BestBuy has the Garmin 255WT (T=lifetime traffic updates) for $139. Radio Shack has the Garmin 1450T for $200. Trying to decide on one of them, or a TomTom. My understanding is that with Garmin, you get one map update within 60 days of purchase, but then you have to pay like $80/year for map updates. TomTom is now advertising a "mapshare", that allows users to share updated maps. Not sure I want to trust user-created maps either.

Edit: I bought the 1450T.

1450T - excellent choice. The 5-in screen is nice.
