So this week, my league's "Taco" played three players on bye, but it looks like he's going to win because of Peyton Manning. His opponent still has the Seattle kicker but he's down by about 13.

This happened to a guy who was in first in one of my leagues. I have the most points but he has been more consistent until this week, where his team lost to the last place team with 3 guys in his lineup who didn't play. The last place teams kicker and defense(Cincinnati and Dan Bailey) outscored his kicker and D by 35 pts.

Not after this week. 2 weeks ago Mega was barely ahead. Good to see him finally put up instead of shitting the bed.

Just admit you were wrong and move on. You obviously got a Boldin Boner and overrated him due to one good game, it's ok it happens to the best of us.

Um yes. Through week 6, Megatron had been well under his projection 3 times (3.7 pts, 2.50 pts, 10.40 pts) and missed a game. He was so average that his owner in my league put him up for grabs on October 15th. Everyone kept lowballing him b/c nobody is going to give up a top 5 RB for a boom or bust WR, and the owner couldn't unload him. What you fail to recognize is that a #1 receiver should possess consistency and Calvin hadn't been displying that until the past 2 weeks. It's a good sign though. Week 11 will be his next test (Revis who's shut him down multiple times) and then the week after vs Green Bay's cloud coverage (Tramon Williams who's done it before). The rest of the way he should be eating opponents up and hopefully displaying more consistency than the first half of the fantasy season.

Sample size... jesus christ. Give it up already.

I didn't overrate Boldin due to that, he is a solid #1. The problem is that SF is only featuring him in limited packages and not passing to him enough - their schedule favors Gore'ing opponents on the ground. His efficiency (when they do) is outstanding.

Overall, let's have a look at some of the advice "slayer" and I have offered.

slayer:
1) Ray Rice isn't a Flex play (vs a RB play). (He's been nothing but, minus Week 5.)
2) Ray Rice has more value than Jason Witten. (49.60 vs 58.30, no.)
3) He's happy with Micheal Vick as his QB. (Vick always = house of cards, resides in the bottom 5 under pressure with Eli re: accuracy %.)
4) Agreed that TRich doesn't have much value. (duh)
5) Amendola over Kerley for Week 8. (Made no sense since Kerley was coming off a huge week, Geno would be forced to throw vs Cincy front 7, and Brady would be facing a monster pass rush + he sucks under pressure this year. Kerley had more points despite both QBs sucking.)

Me:
1) Week 8 - Hits: Carolina DST (decent), Kendall Hunter/Hillis good desperation RB2s (did well), J.Reed over SJax (did well), Andy Dalton being forced to throw = Marvin Jones big game (both great), Average: Kris Durham (subpar due to Mega dominating the midgets on Dallas), Roy Helu (Shanahan going with heavy & not turbo package in the 4th = fail, but we forget it's still Shanahan), Roethlesberger over Tannehill if no Dalton (both mediocre). Misses: Jeff Gordon not doing much against #1 KC (who saw that in J.Campbell? KC still #1 PC).
2) Week 7 - Hits: NYG shutting down AP due to top 5 graded Run D, Tannehill as fill-in QB (3 TDs) forced to throw, Kenbrell or Dobson since Brady forced to throw (Dobson blew up), SD going to the run more vs JAX's dead last run D (Ryan Mathews over 100yds), Tolbert for Flex (well above projected) when he wasn't in the 40 RBs on any list. Average: Jax being able to pass on SD's #32 PC (Henne still went over 300yds but no TDs). Misses: Deandre Hopkins vs KC (Keenum held his own).

What the hell are you talking about? Do you not follow the NFL? He was injured

So by your logic Dez Bryant, Calvin Johnson and A.J. Green are not good #1 receivers. That makes no sense

Megatron is king of getting tackled in the red zone. Mainly at the 1 yard line.

Last year he got tackled I think 6 times. I think I saw him get stopped 3 times this week. Imagine if he doesn't get tackled.

He still number one to me. Dez is a very close 2nd.

Lets not.
As I said before. Just admit you are wrong and lets move on. In a .5ppr league(the way smart leagues do it) CJ has almost double the pts of Bolden, and, he has been injured. You are wrong in every way possible so please stop making a fool of yourself. People that won't admit when they are wrong just make the rest of us annoyed.

Agreed.

There has been some pretty good value at the WR position that were drafted pretty late. Just taking a look at some of the top guys that were drafted later:

Wes Welker - 5th round
Jordy Nelson - 6th round
Antonio Brown - 6th round
Eric Decker - 6th round
DeSean Jackson - 8th round (Though his production has been slipping)
Josh Gordon - 9th round
Justin Blackmon - 11th round

Plus a bunch of guys that were probably undrafted are showing up like Kennan Allen, Alshon Jeffery, Marvin Jones and Terrance Williams.

I swear if I can't get at least a few f**kin points from Marshawn Lynch and lose this week I'm taking a little vacation from fantasy football. What a frustrating week

Me and you both...I fell victim to the Calvin show...that added salt to the wound of Jimmy G producing while on my bench!

All I needed was 3 points from Seattle's pencil dick kicker and I can't even get that.

Kickers should be removed from the NFL. I hate them all.

I'm taking a mini vacation from fantasy football. Games like this just frustrate the crap out of me and its ruining watching the games. I'll be back in a week or so.

I grabbed the Rams K before the game to replace the Seahawks K and the move did not happen and I lost by 4 points. Thank you NFL.com app.

I wonder how bad Stacy's ankle issue is. Hated to see him get hurt after the night he had against Seattle's D. He still sits on waivers in my league. I'm contemplating dropping DeMarco Murray for him, but I don't wanna trade one gimpy player for another one.

Injuries are exactly why he was on the trading block. There are no guarantees when it comes to injury and in Week 6 nobody knew the status of his knee. You are completely missing the point on weighing descriptive value (i.e. what a person has accomplished) vs predictive (what their perceived upside is) when determining total value. Calvin's descriptive value was shit through week 6, there is no disputing that. How you weighed his bad knee injury + upside as a result (predictive value) is up to you.

that is exactly why you're a moron. first, your "descriptive" value was horribly inaccurate. second, you don't use 6 games(including some missed time) to override your so called "predictive" value of the best receiver in the league.

look at eddie royal's stretch of games for example. go spew your worthless words somewhere else

I don't see anyone else providing in depth quantitative analysis in this thread, if I'm hitting on 80% predictions then you can say what you want. No, I don't play PPR and that was made clear. Nobody said anything about CJ vs Bolden either, keep reaching.

Count up the points through week 6 of Megatron vs Boldin. He wasn't that far ahead. Predictive value ALWAYS takes injuries into account.

QQ more buttercup, you don't have to read the thread if you're going to get butthurt by my suggestions.

this year is doing the same thing to me. I keep trying to walk away from it but I can't. I just need to deal with the pain. I have one league where I'm dominating and another where I just cant buy a break. Plus, there's money involved so it makes it a lot more difficult to walk away.
