The last time RAM prices hit rock bottom was just after Elpida declared bankruptcy - since then, and for virtually the entire DDR4 era, prices have cycled between merely ok and sky high.

With Intel leaving the NAND business and there being only 4 players left, 3 of whom are the same companies who make DRAM, will we see the same kind of price fixing with NAND in the future as we do with DRAM now? Or is there still hope that Kioxia/WD will help keep prices down?

Bought last month for $219.99. Today it's $254.99.

Now it's $299 and sold out currently. Ridiculous!

what is the difference between that and this?

im seeing that for 209, and it looks like almost the same exact drive.

EDIT: oh i see, 3200TBW vs 200TBW? Really??

Im finding it hard to believe that one has 3200TBW and the other 200TBW.
Infact im finding it really hard to believe it really has 3200TBW.

EDIT2: OMG its labeled as a 3200TBW SSD? how is this consumer and not enterprise then?
Comparing it off a Sammy 980PRO which the 2TB has 1200TBW..

The one I linked is a TLC drive (phison E12 with DRAM caching) and the Platinum series at Micro Center are all QLC drives. Huge difference between these drives by all relevant metrics.

Side Note: Upgraded my laptop after like 8-9 years to a HP OMEN 17. Took out the 512GB m.2 my HP OMEN 17 came with and put in two of these drives for 4TB total storage. Glad I got both the laptop and the extra storage before all this foolishness with crypto coins got into full swing.

I am just amazed at the TBW on that drive if its true... 3200TBW is massively overkill for consumer.
