I keep hearing people talk about the dark web. I always assumed they were just talking about ATOT.....but with ATOT STILL seemingly being talked about constantly by law enforcement in my local area after all these years, I'm starting to think there might be another dark web they're talking about.

Law enforcement where you are constantly talk about ATOT? What's that about? Did I miss a story?

I'm embarrassingly ignorant about it for someone on a 'tech' site, but I had the impression that 'dark web' was partly a tech thing - sites that you can't get to via a normal browswer/DNS arrangement?

They talk about the dark web. I just assume they mean ATOT is where all the bad stuff is.

If you're really interested, download a Tor client and ask around on some of the shadier cryptocurrency forums about the latest incarnation of whatever Silk Road is called now.

There is some pretty twisted and downright weird stuff on those sites. But, seriously... unless you're looking for stolen credit card numbers and used panties for some reason, I wouldn't bother. You're probably going to get yourself added to a government watch list just for trying.

Yeah unless you have a specific reason to visit sites at .onion addys through TOR nodes, I'd avoid it. I'd suggest using a legit VPN if you feel the need to delve.
