Is this the adapter I need?

My father has a laptop which outputs an S-Video signal, but the TV only accepts composite signal.

So I need an adapter, or else the picture remains black and white..

I think I have found the right one, with the aid of several kind forumboard-users ;) ,
but I just wan't to make absolutely sure before I order!
The TV is equipped with a SCART-adapter, and from what I can see, it says
"Video in" on one of the ports on the adapter, and I guess that's
where the other end of the adapter below goes!

Is this what I need, to transform the S-Video signal
which the laptop outputs, into a composite (RCA) signal that the TV can show in full colours?

Thanks in advance =)

yes, that adapter claims to do exactly what you are looking for.

whether it actually works or not is another question, but it's basically your best bet other than buying a new tv with an s-video input

Yes, that cable looks like it should do the job. Give it a try to see cause that will be your best bet.
