Is this starting to feel like home yet?

I was reluctant to deal with the change at first, but I am finding this to be a lot better setup than the Fisher Price FuseTalk bullshit we were dealing with previously.

exactly. that software was so old and so busted. i feel like we've finally got with the program.

not really, fonts too big and take up much more space than it used to on a 1280x720. It feels very different. If I change the font size myself it messes with alignment in random places. Not to mention I'd have to change it every new visit.

Huge waste of space. Everything needs to be smaller and more compact. This still looks like every other generic vb board out there.

It does, but I wish we could make it more compact. Can't browse in a re-sized window at work anymore.

And the search works, and there are no timewarps...

Why would you rather settle for that? You attached to the familiarity that much?

Doesn't feel like home? As the Borg say, "You will adapt."

No. After 8 years of the old AT I am finding it difficult to get used to the new. I am not as comfortable with the new as I had hoped. Because of this I find myself coming here less-and-less and posting MUCH less than normal.

It does not feel like "home" anymore.

I will continue to return at a reduced rate but I have a life so I am not too concerned.

is there a way to make Off-Topic display more threads instead of having to flip to page 2 so quickly?

It's definitely different, but just having the sidebar back made it much better. I'm getting used to it.

I don't search. Google does a better job archiving message boards than built in search anyway. So I can live without search since I never cared about searching in the first place.

And timewarps were fun. Besides, the timewarp issue wasn't something that couldn't have been fixed.

If they could reduce the font size, reduce the massive amounts of blank space surrounding every post, narrow the margins and condense everything else, then the switch wouldn't be so bad. But until that happens, this is big and bloaty.

I remember when Fusetalk did its last big visual update and everyone moaned about the same problem. The forums had too much blank space between posts and it was impossible to get used to. Well, look at the whole thing over a year later. People are pining for that exact same layout.

I agree that there are small tweaks that need to be done, but vB is pretty sweet and I'm happy.

nosquint works nicely

After a few greasemonkey scripts, yes, this place is starting to feel... better.

No, its still ugly as shit, but they are making improvements every day.

As long as they dont get used to it and things stop improveig, it will look good.

What I mean by that is, please lets not take a year to implement easy changes!! 😛
