My computer seems to be on strike - or at least on a work slow-down. I may be on the wrong section to ask this but hoped I might get an answer here - Do these numbers look right?

Your CPU is going into a low-power mode, you need to add more CPU load (e.g. a stress test) if you want to see your CPU running at advertised speeds.

Just a humorous comment . . .

I had missed the Nehalem bandwagon and the socket 1155 wave on the P67 point-break. [Pray-uzz JEE-sus! for there are advantages as well as disadvantages for "falling behind." On that theme -- "the last . . . . shall be first . . . . and the first . . . . shall be last . . "]

And THAT humor aside . . . .

What I've seen since ordering my Z68 board on June 1 . . . a gaggle of folks -- "senior over-clockers" -- in a frenzy to come up to speed on these bad boyz. . . . "Whoa! Let's not move to fast there! Be-e-e-eee CARE-ful!!" I was saying it myself . . . .

Remarks like "Z68 . . . sockt-1155 . . . 'not for enthusiasts'." But some "enthusiasts" were ringing the bell like the Germans on D-Day: "Die Englische Shiffen!! Die Englische Shiffen!!"

On the one hand -- your "Ron Popeil set-it-and-forget-it" features. On the other hand, my experience, sans any socket 1366 hands-on time; a desire to get started; a temptation to "fiddle" with stuff too early. Coming up to "just enough" speed, I ran the OC-Tuner. Put in a couple tweaks. Looked at the six-month-old CPU-Z software version and wondered: "Where's the beef?! Where's the beef?!"

And there was this little voice inside, saying "If you panic and start d***ing around with this, the horses will get out of the corral . . . . " So I pondered for three days. I read the manual which we all hate. I looked for answers on the web like Diogenes or the Three Wise Men.

And after the three days . . . I got out of bed . . . . just by accident chose to run the ASUS monitor showing "frequency" instead of the old CPU-Z and a seeming flaky several-months-old version of CoreTemp [the temps were still believable, even so . . ] Pulled up PRIME95.

"This was working three DAYZZZZ ago!!!!"

Ummm. Three days . . . got out of bed. I suppose you could say I "rose again."
