Haven’t built a pc for years and want to make sure this ram is fine.

I have an Asrock Steel Legend x870 with a 9600x. I am looking at 2x 16gb sticks of Gskill M5 RGB. Either 6000 CL30 or 6400 CL32. Both are advertised as Intel XMP but they show on the QVL list for the motherboard so I assume both are fine.

Most posts I read suggest CL30 6000 is the better option. I’ve also seen some posts that mention early issues with Gskill on x870.

Any reason not to get the CL30? Options are limited here and the other option would be the Kingston Fury Beast which is 6000 CL36. Which is also on the QVL list

Thanks in advance.

Do these kits have an AMD EXPO option? If so that would be safer to use that. That said it is good a kit is on the QVL list for the board. Remember though the same kit may have several profiles, such as an XMP, an EXPO, and a JEDEC. Also some kits may have more than one XMP.

The Kingston has AMD Expo but the GSkill seems to be only Intel XMP. I think I’ll just grab the Kingston and take the small performance hit. Seems it will only be a couple of % difference

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question
