Eh? I bought a cologne at macys and then returned it because the price was like $30 cheaper at amazon. Well, i was looking at some of the reviews, and even though its sold by amazon and seems to be packaged, they claim its fake and not the real thing.

id be shitty if i got something fake, thatd be a waste of my time.

appears to me they bought it from a private seller through Amazon. Some are probably too dumb to understand this. I HIGHLY DOUBT Amazon is selling fake goods directly.

dunno, guess ill just wait and see. some claimed to have bought it from amazon. since i actually had the other box and returned it, i guess ill be able to see if its the same or not.

Umm I don't think Amazon would ever sell anything fake. Possibly one of the private sellers maybe but not Amazon.

Looks like a lot of people who are claiming that it was fake noted that they bought from sellers other than Amazon (Designer Shop, Globalworx, INTERNATIONAL BOUTIQUE). Anybody shopping on Amazon should note the difference between buying direct from Amazon and buying through Amazon Marketplace from another seller.

I've always been scared to buy cologne online. There are some fragrances I've been looking for in person for a while (Creed is one) but I always come up short and get something else, just to avoid buying online. I probably couldn't tell the difference between a fake [for a fragrance I am not familiar with.]

Of course, some guy in the back could've brought in some imitation shit and replaced the real bottle, or the UPS guy could have done it, or ...?

OR

He bought it from a guy who has his shit fulfilled by Amazon. Thus, it gets shipped from AMZ (eligible for prime/SSS), but not Amazon's product.

He's either doesn't know what he's talking about or just full of it. Amazon wouldn't sell fake products or they'd get hell for it.

My thoughts too. I emailed them to see what theyd say though. Should be interesting. I never buy from anyone other than amazon if i can help it (on amazon.com)

While I agree that Amazon is probably selling legit goods, I bought a copy of Battle Royale in 2004 (from Amazon, LLC - I checked my order history) that was probably a bootleg. The printing on the insert and DVD was poor quality, and there were weird language settings that kept it from playing in everything except PowerDVD.

sometimes amazon uses drop shippers (third parties who basically ship stuff for amazon). maybe thats the source of fake stuff.

acqua di gio is great. i think you'll get the real stuff when purchased from Amazon.com like everyone else said. the same problem exists for sony memory cards. lots of knock-offs out there.

that's a great price on it, but you can probably find it cheaper by looking for sales at the mall. i paid $40 for the large bottle of acqua, a couple other smaller items and samples, and a bag at Dillards on sale.
