does that mean you MAKE 954/month, or you have $954 SPARE a month?

Please give us a total you have SPARE after all your current bills are paid for the month.

i've stated it twice already.
i'm not sure what part of "after i pay my bills, i have $954" people aren't understanding?
its in the very 1st sentence of the very 1st post for fvck's sake.

I figure after I pay my bills - car payment, car insurance, phone/dsl, etc. - I have about $954 a month for other things.

Can I get an apartment off this and live or maybe even a house(i'm thinking a major no on the house)?

Right now I'm thinking its gonna be tough. say the apartment costs $500, thats $400 left for food, gas, and other things. I'm thinking $500 as an average cost of an apartment around here but I don't know for sure. Its probably at least a little more than that. Are there any extra costs with going with an apartment?

plus i need furniture. i have bedroom furniture so i can save there, but i would need other furniture, appliances, and kitchenware, bathroom stuff, etc.

I've never been to Other, USA so I'm not too sure what the cost of living is like there.

did anyone eactually read the thread? based on the responses i'm getting, i guessing no.

i found an ad for one of the apartment buildings i was considering.

Newly remodeled Apt.! Brand new, time saver kitchens with stove refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, washer & dryer. Updated interiors throughout. 2 bedroom, roomy 1,000 sq. ft. with cable, internet services coming soon. Get the best for less. $520 & up, low security deposits.

so at least $520 for the apartment. i'm wondering if the $520 apartment comes with the all those appliances? that would definitely save me money, but that still doesn't leave me with much for other stuff.

Well, you could always sell the car and use public transport...

(Yes i'm aware that suggesting this in the USA may get me burned at the stake faster than you can correctly pronounce "Wegenbelasting")

That's $440 a month for food, utilities, entertainment, savings, clothing, and emergencies (car repair, stuff breaks, etc). That is not enough to be comfortable with. If you can find a roommate, and that $520 is for the whole apartment (and not per room), you might be able to do it.

$520 is most likely for a studio / very small 1 bedroom place. It will most likely have the appliances though... but maybe only the stove/refregerator.

you need glasses if you see anywhere i said chick...

so i'm guessing that people have reverted to just asking for pics if the thread title has anything that might be construed as sexual instead of reading the posts (not that you lazy ass fvcks read a post longer than 4 words anyway).

Everyone knows doable refers to women. You should have said "conceivable" or "possible". Although the former could also refer to women. Just an FYI.

I'd fine a roommate. I live on my own, but wish I had found a roommate. Having extra cash is always nice.

what would you fine him for 😕

so he can have extra cash, duh

Moving out may be a good thing for you pontifex, since you have stated that you get depressed. Moving out could help because it makes you more independant, and chances are if you choose, you will be more social because of the independance.

Just get a roommate and screen for wackos. Post roommate wanted on a Medical School campus or something like that. That way you know the person is disciplined enough.

Or if you have a mature friend to room with, that would be good too.

i just remembered something else also. i want to start putting money into 401k plan so that leaves even less for me.

Sometimes you have to pick monetary security or freedom. In your case, freedom might be a good thing. It will spur you on to finding a higher paying job anyways. Plus if you start a 401k, the minimum per month in deposit is quite low (I believe it can go around $25/month). No big deal. You won't be living in the nicest place, but you can do it, and still live okay, until you get a raise or a better job. 🙂

i live in a very rural area so a lot of these suggestions don't apply.
i'd still prefer a house as i feel an apartment is just wasting money but i really feel the need to have my own place.

its not that my parents don't want me living there or there are problems. its just that i'm running out of room for my stuff and other small annoyances like noise when i'm trying to sleep. i just feel like i need my independence. also, like you said DaSen, it might help me out in other ways.

but if i can't afford it, or just barely afford it, i don't see the point.

if i can get a job making more money i would be fine but thats not looking good as i can't find anything.

wow, just found some more apartments in the town i live in. currently i live outside of the actual town area.

2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bath. $365/month plus utilities. Security deposit. No pets. No smoking

2 bedroom, new paint, refinished floors, stove, refrigerator, included. $375 per month. Security deposit required. No smoking and no pets.

Duplex 1BR, ground floor, separate entrance, small yard. $335 plus 1/2 utilities includes washer/dryer hookup, refrigerator and stove. Fresh and clean. Oil heat. No pets

i don't smoke and don't have any pets.
I'm not quite sure where these apartments are and what they look like but those prices are definitely better. I wonder how much extra the utilities would cost? that also puts me about 10 minutes further from work too.

next town over, even further from work though.

Available April 15. One bedroom, first floor apartment located on 7 acres. Includes water & sewer. This is located just outside of town. Very nice condition. $400/month plus security deposit and one year lease is required. NO inside pets

no, i don't want to live paycheck to paycheck but i'm really getting tired of living with my parents.

$954 a month is plenty. i lived on $1100 a month in pennsylvania and that included rent/utils/etc, and i never felt poor.

well unless i can get a better job, i'm going to be living with the rents forever, unless i get a major pay raise here. but i hate this job anyway, so that wouldn't really help me out much.
