did you install it correctly when installing windows [F6 etc]?

But thomash is right - check to see if it shows up in bios first
press DELETE at boot
 
What mobo are you using? Some mobos do not require the SATA/Raid drivers for SATA only as long as the drive is connected to SATA 1, (Intel chip). My Asus P4P800-E Deluxe is one. The default settings from the factory are for SATA only-- just connect the drive and away you go.
