Is this possible...? (Regarding DV Camera, and Editing)

Heres my situation. I took some footage for a class project on my digital video camera, Sony 8mm, and now I would like to edit some of the bad takes out, add some titles, credits, etc. Id like a program like Windows Movie Maker that has the scene detection in it, so I can edit everything clip by clip almost. Would this be possible, and then to output it BACK on to the DV camera? IS this possible? I have MGI Videowave 4, Adobe Premier 6, and Microsoft Movie Maker to work with. Thanks. I do have a firewire card BTW.
