Have a client who has small nt nw at office and smaller home nw. He wants to use laptop (w98) at both locations. When he plug laptop into office net, he can see the other computers and the server (wNT), but cannot install the nw printer. Currently he has different workgroups assigned--ie, laptop is assigned to home nw name. I suggested he simply rename the wg on the laptop, but he resists this. Is there another way to go? TIA, Paul

How is the printer hooked to the nw.
if it's hooked up using a JetDirect card he'll need jet admin (off the win98 cd).

PC_Freak--printer is off std parallel port--no special card at printer. All the office machines can see the server and the hp folder/icon. Laptop cannot see it. It asks for a nw password to continue the printer setup. As far as I know, no password was ever entered. Paul

There's a program called NetSwitcher that enables setup of different network configurations, and you can boot with whichever one you want to use. Do a search and you should find it.
