Is this picture too creepy for my website?

I'm redesigning my personal website, mostly to learn Ruby and some design techniques. Do you think this picture is too creepy? Mostly this website will just contain links to my programming projects, my photographs and a blog. Do you think the main picture is a bit jarring? This picture will only appear on the front page, it won't follow users around the site.

I think it entirely depends on what the final text for "Item 1", "Item 2" and "Item 3" will be.

I have to say I like the look! But yes it is a "little" strong. But for your own personal site I see no problems.

Not creepy at all. If that's how you want people to think of you (I assume it's you, it would be creepy if it's not), it's fine.

casiotech was a mutant and there's no resemblance.

You need to be more unconventional and place the half a face on the top of the page, like you are a God or something looking down on us lowly internet mortals from Heaven.

And instead of calling them Items, call them Seals, so it's like opening the Seals of Revelation or something religiously symbolic like that. Maybe you could single just your 2 eyes, and put them at the top of the page, and have them scroll side to side with the cursor before someone clicks on a link. That would be uber creepy and make small children cry and stuff.

I wouldn't put a pic of yourself on front page. The only people who should put their pictures on main page are models, actors, political figures, etc, even for a personal site or career contact site. An "about me"/ bio page could have a pic of you, though.

EDIT: and the black shirt (is that a black shirt?) makes you blend in too well into the black background. You don't look creepy in the normal pics olds posted, but you do in that black and white murderer/rapist pic on the site 😛

The image certainly has that "better than you and I'm going to rub it in" feeling of Casiotechness. Just find something else to use.
