have good laugh... its not for me ... would it even run the windows Vista setup
howcome it says no vga how can anyone use a monitor

Intel celeron 2.4ghz
D865 GBF
Vga - none
sound none
256 mb kingston ram

It'll have onboard graphics.

In theory you should be able to run vista. But i wouldn't bother, just stick with XP.

It's not future proof, it's barely present proof.

Who is it for? that's really not worth it at all, tell whoever is getting it to spend a bit extra and opt for some nice parts. You don't have to spend alot of money to build a nice machine, but that's just pathetic there.

Tell them to look around you can pick up some nice budget stuff and put together a machine for under $400.

If there's going to be no gaming or anything, then this is more than powerful enough. Windows + Office apps etc... gets nowhere near stretching the limits of even a computer like this.

You'll need more ram to run Vista and regular apps well.

Definately no gaming - at least no games released later than ohhhh 1995 🙂

its not for me its for an office....... id never build something like this........
anyone knows about more Celeron....... how is AMD better than Intel or is it..... but i dont think onboard graphics could handle the vista desktop..........

Not HDCP compliant for Vista so already out of the question for future proof, although you wouldn't need HDCP for the office.
Vista is rated for a minimum of 512mb, recommended 1gb.
Etc etc etc..

check this site out which lists the components needed for vista run under different situations (probably not 100% accurate but at least it gives you an idea).

LOL, I didnt mean to laugh. Anyways, You'll might need at least 1 gig or up, 64bit cpu such as AMD or latest Intel processors, and yes I'm sure vista could handle onboard video so for that computer you're current using might be minimum system if you add 1 gig of ram and prehaps upgrade processor ;-]
