Hi,

As in "regular 3-pin speed sensing wire that connects to the CPU fan header on the mobo?" :confused:

I want to order this fan w/the SLK900A off this page here. Thanks!

If I had the whole model number, I could easily look it up. But I don't have the whole model number; was thinking possibly some of you have ordered this combo before and could tell me. :)

Panaflo fans do not have rpm sensors on them it is just a sensor to detect if the fan is running or not. Get a Zallman 7000 heatsink as it comes with a fan is quiet and cools well. Just make sure it fits your motherboard.

Thanks, Cosmo3. Well, I did some checking and according to this .pdf it looks like the fan does have RPM sensing.

BX:

B=3 wire lead (ground/power/signal)
X=2ppr speed sensor (TAC output)

Now, that's what it LOOKS like. Would be nice to verify for sure though!

I posted that link, above, in another thread. It would be very helpful if I had the ENTIRE model number of this fan. :disgust:

can't find the link to the thread but 92mm Panaflo's have RPM sensing but the 80mm do not.

Hmm, I never heard of such a thing before. Same manufacturer: 80mm fans don't have rpm sensing, but 92mm ones do. :confused:

Well, I have a few L1A's and they do NOT have rpm sensing. So, I guess it's possible.

digikey panaflo fans see FBA section page 2

I have used panaflo BX fans (60mm one) from the above source which had proper RPM sensing.
Never did find an 80mm L1BX though in my travels ... hope this helps.

I'll post about 80's tomorrow; just got one ready to install but too late to bother. This panaflo H better be quieter than the shrieker I have on my sk-7 now. Should though; my 92 did but maybe... not.

There IS a RPM sensing 80mm Panaflo. In fact I own 2 of them that were never quite put into use ;)

I'll post pics in a moment!

Edit: Pic. Not quite what MichaelD is looking for, but just a FYI :)

For the original poster, I hope you found the model number. If not (it wasn't very tough ;)), it's on 2cooltek's page for sale by itself:

A good compromise fan for airflow and noise level from Panaflo. Has 3 pin RPM sensing connector and Hydro-wave bearings.
Specs:
- Model FBA09A12M-1BX
- 48.0 CFM
- 12v
- .2 amp
- 30.0 dba

Try Frozen CPU or Xoxide --- both sell 3 & 4 pin tails/adapter wires made specifically for panaflo fans. You just plug em into the fan, no muss, no fuss.

I lied; I have the high speed fan but it really isn't that loud at all; in fact it's very quiet.

Anyway the 80mm "H" which I got at SVC does have speed sensing; I know 2 db's is on a logarithmic scale but bet 30 vs 32 isn't that bad at all; now I want some new case fans however because all of a sudden I can hear them.

Directron does add connectors but for a pricy little cost.

Be aware that just plugging a 3-wire tail into a non-BX Panaflo still leaves you with a fan that has no tach output. If your fan is a non-BX version (as the vast majority are) there's nothing you can do to it to get an rpm reading out of it.
