Is this ok for thermal paste?

OK - hope mine was fine. Only thing the heatsink did get slid a bit repeatedly like with the screws.

I tend to give my heatsink a bit of a squidge around and a few little twists before I screw it in place anyway, just to give me piece of mind. I don't know if that makes it better or worse, but I don't have any heat problems, so it's just become force of habit for me now.

So I wouldn't panic tbh fella.

I think computer people don't like the paste application because the amount is so analog.

I get surprised at how many computer people are too afraid to try their hand at building..

It needs to be a very thin layer that is spread in a good way. Obviously quality thermal paste is very important.
