I tried out bikram yoga a couple weeks ago, and while I loved it, I have something slightly disconcerting happen to me every time. Awhile after I start my workout, it becomes extremely hard for me to swallow excess saliva in my mouth, not because there's so much saliva, but it feels like either my tongue is in the way or my throat closes up.
I've asked the both the yoga instructor and my regular trainer at my gym about it and neither have heard of this happening. The only reasons I can think of this happening are: I sweat profusely during bikram yoga and turn bright red, and my tonsils are (and always have been) pretty big. I do drink water throughout the yoga session, but nowhere near the same ratio of sweating to water-drinking I do through a normal gym workout because I sweat so friggin much during the yoga.
Anyone know what is causing this, and is this a sign that I'm over-exerting myself?
