This is probably a nooby question but I bought this RAM:

http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=37570

Which is 1600MHz but PCU-Z seems to think it's 667MHz?

It looks like the CPU-Z results mean this:

Using JEDEC standards, the memory module is only rated to 667 MHz at the timings listed in the chart.

Using the Intel XMP standards,, the memory module is rated to 800 MHz (1600) at the timings listed in the chart.

"The Intel XMP profiles mean the memory is qualified and guaranteed to run at a frequency of 1600MHz with timings of 8-8-8-24 at a voltage of 1.65V through the use of the SPD settings."

So does this mean everything is working as it should? Should I be modifying any BIOS settings or something? Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, it's working, just not at the speeds and timings advertised.

The problem is that the computer will usually default to JEDEC standards, and not the high performance profile (like the XMP profile) the RAM was advertised as. You just need to make the appropriate changes in the BIOS (timing, voltage, freq).

Personally, I'm not a big fan of increasing the voltage over JEDEC standards. If you're not sure what to change in BIOS, I wouldn't really worry about it much.
