I have an HP DV8000 laptop with that processor.

I never cared about my laptops' cpu temperature until yesterday -just mere curiosity-, i installed speed fan and it shows 45ºC idle (@low voltage and low speed) and -holy f**k- 95ºC load (no energy saving stuff).

Is this normal?

My guess is speedfan isn't reading it properly. If it really was at 95ºC it would have melted down by now I'm sure. I would check the vents for dust buildup, blow them out.

Try coretemp and see what it reports (I think it is compatible with turions)

I was posting on the laptop:

Coretemp shows the same temperature (95ºC).

And i said "was" because it turned off when it reached 99ºC.

Vents are clean, room temperature is about 20ºC so...

Does the keyboard burn the skin off your fingers? If not, it's probably a faulty sensor.
