Is this Normal????

I'm looking at the fan on top of my stock heatsink for the E6300 in my case...and I've seen it come to a complete stop 2-4 times in the last minute...is this normaL????

I'm NOT an expert on boxed E6300 fans, but apriori knowledge tells me something is wrong!

No matter... Get rid of that thing!

I was surfing around the web, the other night, half asleep, and found OEM 'Connie' fans for $16 on some site.

Bottom line: These new Intel HSFs are a disgrace, IMHO!

VinDSL most likely hit it on the nose, but I've gotta ask: could it be your mobo's CPU fan controller? Or is this after the 'puter's been on for awhile?

They run cooler than K8's, so I can see when you first power it on it'd do this (the stock HSF on my 3200+ always did it the first several minutes of being on.

Now, if you've OC'd and running Prime95 and it's doing that... all bets are off, and you'd best do what VinDSL recommends. 🙂
