These are all different views of the side of my foot. The other day I happened to dorsiflex my toes and noticed that there appears to be a lump. There is a smaller version on my other foot - which leads me to believe it is a muscle?

I've been changing alot lately (lifting weights, running distance, etc) - and if you remember I've lost close to 185lbs now (over the last 4 years) - so things tend to change rapidly, and then I notice something, and I'm like 'ummm was that there yesterday?'

It just looks weird. It is painless and I have not hurt myself (the lumpy area near the ankle).

Thanks for thoughts!

That's actually the extensor digitorum brevis and extensor hallucis brevis muscle groups. That's completely normal and is common in individuals who do activities that require a lot of dorsiflexion. You're 100% a-okay.

Wow, I learn something everyday. I've had this bump since I was 14 and never really thought about it. It was normal to me and I thought most people had it.

Mine's bigger than yours. I also have a set of them on my hands between the thumb and index finger. My lady friend says because I jerk off a lot, so I said why don't you help me.

Thanks man, I was worried it was a cyst or something else. I happened to flex my foot one day, and I honestly could not remember if I had ever seen it before, couple with the fact that they are not perfectly 'symmetrical' between both feet.

I've been doing like 30 1 leg squats and 30 negative 1 leg heel dips a day - that probably has something to do with it.
