1) Via 4 n 1 drivers? or WinXP chipset drivers?
2) 3dmark patched? or not patched?
3) running benchmark @ default settings?

your score actually looks very much in line to me for that cpu and video card. mx cards are very much casterated.

try running PC Mark 2001se, check if other parts are bing slow or just very badly performing gfx card.

I got about 6500 (itself a bit low i think) with my rig (see sig), which is vaguely similar to yours except a GF3ti200, xp1600+ and faster HDD (dets are 30.82's btw).

>250% your score isnt even nearly explained by a touch faster cpu & HDD, I'd be surprised if even the weaker card should make up most of the difference.

1. Did you install the SIS IDE and AGP drivers? Boosted my GeForce 4 3dmarks by 1000.

2. Under Performance and Quality tab, on nVidia panel, is texture sharpening enabled? If so disable, as this half's the effective fill rate = slow fps.
Also leaving nView active cloning the monitor to TV when resolutions arent the same would have a similar impact.

3. DDR Memory for the SIS735 platform didnt make a significant effect , around 10-15%. I dont think thats the case. Having said that , there is an instant 10 - 15% performance gain from setting the memory timing to "ultra". Tried it?

i will try some of that out and come back with updates. thanks.

1. sis chipset..no 4 in 1's win xp chipset drivers? explain..thanks
2. patched? i just downloaded the benchmark from madonion and installed
3. ran benchmark demo, default settings 1024x728 32 85hz

as i have said. the scores around review sites are easily doing 4k. i think i've got something else causing the problem here.

NOTE: i do also have a 300W AMD approved power supply. I know how picky this board is about PS's.

if the memory clock is 400MHz, then its DDR.

Make sure you have the latest chipset drivers and insure you have enabled DMA.

DMA enabled on the HD?

from what i know the sis 735 doesnt have drivers like the VIA 4 in 1's.

Someone correct me if im wrong.
