Might be. Usually the phone company's demarcation point is outside of your home in a little mounted box, maybe 4"x6". Could be any size, I've seen many different types.

If you are in an apartment building, the demarcation should be the demarcation point for the whole facility, usually in a basement or in a closet somewhere. What you have there ... no idea.

It has two wires on the bottom and says to use them to test of the line works. If the line is dead at the test spot, it says to call the phone company...

All im trying to do is physically disconnect the line for VoIP :)

What i thought to be the NID locked outside on the side of the row of townhouses turns out to be from the cable company...

demends on where the demarc is.

demarcation = where their responbility ends and your begins.

Most likely if its your local telco they will extend the demarc into your house. depends.
