After getting my first DSLR about 2 and a half years ago I have always used free hosting
for my domain.
And before that I experimented with HTML and DHTML from the 6th grade using lycos

I used to use the free hosting from dartw0rth then they went down
Then I got free hosting from some guy on freewebhostingtalk.com then the guy hosting his resellers account ran off
The a found another one 3 days ago on freewebhostingtalk.com now when I go to my site it says database error...
I really didnt mind it when dartw0rth went down because that host lasted a good 4ish months
and dartw0rth was really helpful as that was my first wordpress blog
Now im out on a new search...

/Rant

the reason I can't pay for hosting is because
1. I dont any hits (30 - 50 visits a day)
2. I for some reason I cant justify the 10$ a year for the domain + $120 a year for hosting

I know this was weak rant...

I pay $50 a year to host my website, 100GB of data storage, 1TB of bandwidth. Makes sense to me, dont use much bandwidth but I do store alot of files so it makes sense for $50 a year. Good uptime and GREAT speeds 780KB/s up/down

Yes, you are getting what you pay for...nothing. You can find hosting for less than $50 a year as pointed out in this thread. That isn't that expensive when you consider the PITA factor of finding a new "free" host every few months.

😕

I have a lot of friends and family that look at it

oh and i have my wordpress connected to my flickr so i dont use up bandwidth like mo fo 😉

If you're doing a blog, why not just host it on a blog site like Xanga or BlogSpot? It's free, and it will probably get more attention that way anyway.

I pay $24 a year to host my website. I have 20GB of Bandwidth and 2GB of space.

They have 1GB of Space and 10GB of bandwidth packages for $10/year... permanently... not a special offer.
