Is this motherboard ok?

Is the Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI nforce4 SLI Sck939 DDR ATX w/ RAID/SATA a good motherboard to pair up with an A64 3500+ and a BFG 6800GT OC ???

I was considering the Lanparty sli board but this is cheaper and more available.

What do you think?

is there a reason you wanted to go with SLI? if your not going to use dual cards, imo a lanparty ultra-d w/1x6800GT OC will kick a dual 6600GT's ass.

i hear ya, but i was thinking that if i get the sli board and one 6800 then later down the road i have the option to add a second 6800 if i feel the need to.

true, go for it if that's your plan. the only thing I would be concerned about is how long I would be waiting for someone to get it in stock.

I thinks it great. Max Htt is 295 though..so stay away if you plan to Overclock a 3000 or 3200 with it.

Yes. I would recommend the Asus or the DFI over this. Even the Ultra version of the DFI has 2x x16 slots. A simply pencil trick will get you a full fledged SLI system.

But other than that nice setup. I wouldn't waste your money on the 3500+ when the 3200+ can make it to the same speed.

Yeah, it would be better to drop the cpu down a bit instead of getting a 6600gt like you were saying in the other thread.

That stopped yesterday. I heard it from OW, all boards shipped after 22'nd no longer have this trick..🙁

nVidia don't like people taking advantage of the fact that the silicon is basically the same. Kinda like the Quadro cards vs modified GeForce.

At least I know the CK8-04 is totally different silicon. +2 million transistors. 😛

are these the boards shipped on 22nd and after, or after the 22nd meaning on the 23rd?

mine shipped yesterday, so it would be good to know. 🙂

Well it all depends this an awesome board for the money but depends what you are really looking for. The DFI is probably the route I would go, but that's also personal preference.

Shipped from factory after 22nd.. meaning there's still plenty in channel..yours will be cool since you just ordered.. by after now who knows?? It's a matter of how long they take to get from taiwan and into shelves. It's certainly a risk for the next couple weeks..then after that I would'nt bank on getting a moddable board.. AT posted about this in board review here.

THere seems to be two asus sli boards and 2 giga-byte sli boards. What is the difference between them. The asus deluxe is about 20 bucks more than the asus non-deluxe, and giga-bytes boards are like that too. What are the difference?
