Is this motherboard dead?

It's an A8AE-LE out of an HP.
I tested the PSU via the paperclip method & it's ok.
I tried shorting out the jumper pins to check the power button, but still no go.
Dead?

take battery out for 5 mins, clear cmos, use one stick of ram at a time.
