Is this MOBO any good?

Im looking to take the P4 plunge (please, no AMD advice 🙂 )and was looking at this board:
aopen ax4b i845b ddr skt 478 w/audio ata100 atx

Is this board any good? If not then why? Also, will it fit in a standard ATX tower? I really dont want to have to buy another tower as I love mine. Any info or advice would be great. I could get this board and a 478pin P4 1.6mhz for about 300 bux. Thanks.

Why NOT amd? You must be rich or something, only rich kids take the Intel route.😉 Taking the Athlon XP route, not only will it be alot cheaper but it will be faster.😀

IMO it's worth waiting a while so you can get a Northwood P4 with 512 KByte cache. It's a bit faster and runs cooler.

Can't comment on that specific mobo, but AOpen boards are pretty good quality IMO.

There are better boards out there probably. If u're going 845-D then go get an Asus P4B266. It's the best. But, with current RAM prices, I'd go 850, and the best 850 board is Abit TH7II-RAID.

EDIT: I too agree, that if u're going P4, spending extra money on Northwood is well worth it. There are supposed to be 1.6 and 1.8 Northwood's coming as well as the 2A and 2.2's. I'd keep an eye out for them
