ok, i read this

"an average guy has 12 sex partners in his life, while his wife or gf only has 4"

this is that the guy is straight

is this possible? the only two possibilities i cuold though of is:

1) there are 3 times more women than men, which shouldn't be the case?
2) guys are exergerating and girls are being shy on the numbers

This guy becomes an elite member by asking the question of how a man can have 12 sexual partners while his wife only has 4? Wow.. I didn't think it was that easy.

WTF? I've never even seen that name around, and he's elite?!

Everybody is being elite these days.

Just because he didnt rack up a ridiculus amount of posts in OT doesnt mean he is not elite material.

well you don't really need to know why i got my elite status with my post count. didn't it say it's not the post count that makes you an elite? instead it's about how much you have contributed and help out people on the forum?

actually if you think about the numbers it's not that easy...... when i first read it sounded quite reasonable to me too, but the more i think about it the less sense it makes...

You ever hear of the Rule of Three? It's explained pretty well in American Pie 2. Basically you can apply it either way: either multiply the ammount of people that the women have slept with by 3 to find the number (they don't want to be known as whores), or divide the number of women that men claim to have slept with by 3 (they want those "pimp" bragging rights). There you go.

Rominl, you are right. I was being sarcastic in my previous posts, as mentioned within the reply to minendo.

It can make sense.

It only takes a dozen really slutty girls to have sex with a TON of guys to allow that same ton of guys to bop a dozen girls. If the average girl isn't off riding every doodad she comes across, then the average for girls will be much lower than guys.

It only takes a few slutty girls and lots of slutty men to make those numbers realistic. And judging by what I know about men and women, I'd say those numbers could be quite realistic.

Nope it can't. The girls with the many partners would weigh the average up for all women and it would balance out. The only way this statistic can actually be true would be if there were a small group of women that had lots of sex partners but never get married or if the majority of sex partners than men have are women that are older than their wives.
This statistic and statistics like it are often shown as examples of how people can lie on surveys and hence surveys are not the most reliable source of information. Whenever they conduct a survey on how many people voted in the last election, it is always significantly higher than the number of votes actually collected.

That would be true if we limited "average" to mean arithmatic mean. If we are looking at the median, then the "slutty girl" theory holds water.

. . . and also everyone lies.
