I was talking to my wife's friend from school and he said he had this system

DUAL Athlon XP 2600+
Some Asus motherboard, I forgot
4GB of PC-3200
2x 120GB SCSI Hard Drive
and some other stuff I can't remember.

He owns a website that sells computers for businesses and he's pretty rich so I'm not sure if he's lying or not.

KhoiFather, if he's rich & is into computers, I'd say he spends his money wisely :)

He's either lying or dont know the proper specs.

XP2600+ are not available yet, and all 762MPX boards are very poor overclockers.

All 762 MPX motherboards require registered ECC ram (unless you love crashes) above 1GB. And no Registered ECC is greater than PC2100. Furthermore, there are no such thing as PC3200 in 1GB sticks (only 4 dimms on the asus 762MPX board). Also, once you get to around PC3200 level in DDR SDRam, it becomes unstable in quantity (I know no one running at/over 200Mhz DDR that uses 4 sticks with 2 banks each).

There is no such thing as a 120GB SCSI harddrive. Closest are 73 and 148 drives.

Most all hardware selling stores i know are struggling :p

The 2400+ and 2600+ are available now, Go here www.BZBOYZ.com if you want to buy one; they got their first shipment in ~12 hours ago. So he could possibly have the procs.

Otherwise the rest seems made-up/incorrect.

Umm.. the point is NOT the CPU's in question. It's the other "minor" stuff.
