When I think about it in a purely logical manner, it seems that I should not pursue a relationship with her. First off, I AM friends with my roommate. And I do plan on staying friends with him. In fact, we have a house lined up to live in next year. Secondly, she is young, and slightly immature, though she does seem more mature than the average 16 year old. Who knows, maybe she just wanted to have a one night stand.

So, logic tells me to stay away, but hormones and my heart tell me to at least do something.

Well, I'm not big on shagging a girl within ten hours of meeting her.
I also kept thinking about her age. I had my first girlfriend at sixteen. She was sixteen too. I remember how impressionable and innocent life is at sixteen. Serious relationships are new and fresh. I wanted to give Mary something more than sex. I wanted to preserve her innocence. I wanted to do the right thing, because I care about her. Sure, that may sound sissy to you. But, I'm pretty sure I'd have felt extremely guilty if I had done it with her. I also had no idea whether it was legal or not.

wasn't there a thread this year aboot some poor kid nearly being lynched by a neighborhood watch group (somewhere in GA)?
