Site has been here since 97 or so, but there was a forum wipe in 99 and everyone had to re-register.

It's an American business, but the forums are as international as their membership. That said, we're mostly American, then Canadian, and then various European nationalities.

I wondered. I had seen a member who registered in 1999. Did it exist in 1998 too?

Nerdish (or maybe Geekland) and was around before 1999 on another forum software.

Oh, and for the record, I'm an Appalachian American.

When it comes to the Internet, such questions are usually answered in non-sensical ways. People often cite location of Servers or Owner, but these really don't matter. What I mean is, either or both of those factors could be different than they are(regarding Anandtech)and the website function exactly how it currently does.

The compilation of the Members is the greatest determining factor. Which would make it primarily American, although not exclusively so.

That about covers it. Anand was said to be 14 or so when he started this site. I lost my account twice with forum changes. The site only had tech stuff to begin with and was a warehouse for all the newest "inside" information for years. I don't speak for everyone, but nationality seems meaningless here.

We're all fine British gentlemen (with a few ladies) here. We enjoy our tea and biscuits.

What is your favourite colour?

There's not a single human here. We're all just varying versions of AI that the gov is testing.

That's fancy talk for saying your mouth works like a playdoh fun factory; you can squeeze out five different shapes between your teeth. :p
